MY WORK QUESTIONS CONCEPTS SUCH AS IMAGE, PRESENCE, INTIMACY, EXPERIENCE AND PERCEPTION. BY DISCREET INSTALLATIONS, MY FILM AND VIDEO SEQUENCES EVOLVE AS PRESENCES THAT OWN THEIR SPECIFIC LOGIC AND TEMPORALITY. THEIR MINIMAL "NARRATIVE" FRAMEWORK ALLOWS AN EXPERIENCE OF DURATION THAT ENGAGES THE PERCEPTIVE SKILLS OF THE SPECTATOR AND INVITES TO CONTEMPLATION. SLOWNESS, INACTIVITY AND REPETITION LEAD TO A FLUCTUATION AND A TRANSFORMATION OF THE FORM THAT MULTIPLY THE POSSIBILITIES OF INTERPRETATION OF DAILY LIFE SITUATIONS.

Olivia Boudreau is a Montreal artist whose work deals with presence, intimacy, and perception through an exploration of moving images. Over the last few years, her work has been praised at several exhibitions and manifestations in Montreal, Quebec City, and Toronto. Since 2009, she has been a resident artist at the Darling Foundry for which she is preparing a solo show scheduled for fall 2012. She recently went to Valencia and Strasbourg as part of her residency. Last year, Olivia held her first solo show in Europe at the Néon Gallery. Her work Le bain was shown in Barcelona during the LOOP Festival. She was part of the second Québec Triennial at the MACM as well as the Archi-Féministe! exhibition, which highlighted the role of women in the history of the Optica Centre. In December 2011, Olivia received the Prix Pierre Ayot, honouring her exceptional workmanship and original contribution. Her work is part of collections at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, the City of Montreal, the Léonard and Bina Ellen Gallery, and of privately-owned collections. The artist completed a master of fine arts in media and visual arts at UQUAM. She currently lives and works in Montreal.
